This weeks artist was super easy to pick, as a week ago, I had never heard or heard of them and to date, I have listened to their album 16+ times…according to iTunes that is 🙂  Young the Giant opened for Neon Trees last Monday and literally from the first note, I was hook…no exaggeration.  To make it even cooler (for me at least) the singer is from Ann Arbor…nice.  Their music just makes sense to me and is so easily enjoyed, at least by my ears.  They are terrific live and have such great energy and perform all of their music beautifully all while having a blast.  I enjoyed them so much, I am going to see them in less than a week, when they’re back in Michigan 🙂  Have a listen, you won’t be sorry.  Click on the album artwork to purchase the album.

Here is one of my favorite tracks, I Got.

Neon Trees are little more mainstream than a lot of what I listen to, but I thoroughly enjoy their album, Habits.  Also, since I am seeing them this evening at the Magic Stick, I thought it would only be natural for them to be my Monday music artist.  The album is fun and has a lot of energy and while I love the two singles, “Animal,” and the recently released, “1983,” “Love and Affection,” is definitely my favorite and the one I like to crank up in the car and sing along with the most.  Habits is definitely a great album to pick up (it’s also only $3.99 right now) if you want some fun, energetic music you can “rock out” to…alone or with friends 🙂
