Well, if you’ve been to my house, you might have noticed that for a photographer, my walls sure are bare.  So I am going to remedy that problem over the next few months.  I walked around my neighborhood today with my camera to “warm up” to taking images of things that aren’t people.  I just thought I’d share with you some of what I captured.  Nothing that I will be putting up, but it was fun and I’m excited for what I will find if I actually get in my car and drive somewhere.  These are slightly cropped, because I made them into wallpapers which are a little wider than what you see, but you can get the idea non-the-less.  For you photographers out there, these were shot with a Nikon D3, 70-200 f/2.8 and the close-up shots had a Canon 500D close-up filter attached.  Enjoy some pretty-ness 🙂

P.S.  Lots of blog posts coming!

  • Kate Elliott - Lovely Dustin! I’m a big fan of flower/plant images!!

  • Mom - so when does Mom get copies of these lovely photos?

  • Karrn - You gotta know I love that waterlily shot, GORGEOUS!

  • Melissa - Beautiful shots!

You might remember Tricia and Kevin from their engagement session I did last October.  We decided to get together again and take a few more shots at Gallup Park in Ann Arbor.  One of the things I love about Tricia and Kevin, is how good they are at acting like the camera is not there and just having a good time.  It was nice seeing you two again and I’m excited for your wedding.  I’m glad you enjoyed The Blue Tractor too!  Enjoy the pics.

  • Wayne Toshikazu - Nice work, buddy – so many great shots. And what a beautiful church!

  • Melissa - Oh my gosh…Dustin! These are BEAUTIFUL! The shot of the inside of the church is amazing! The little guy in his shorts is So cute too!

  • Mary - Dear Dustin,
Have to honestly say as a participant at the wedding, I wasn’t too sure about you as a photographer. Honey, you did an amazing job! Many, many favorites. The ultimate being Kara holding Jon from behind. Their eyes tell it all!!!! Thanks for giving them such beautiful memories on print.

  • ben + laura - great work bro … love the third shot from the top, great composition … and the solo shot of the bride, so natural … nice!

  • Wendy - Stellar work as always, Mr. D! I love how you capture the expressions— love the eyelashes shot! Nice work!

  • Nathan - Dustin you are amazing, I have never actually wanted to look at wedding pictures before. You capture so much more then the visually apparent… amazing.

I just realized yesterday, that I have written 100 posts, so that makes this number 101!  I just wanted to share something that I’m a fan of and it is called Every Man Jack.  Every Man Jack make products for men for hair, body, skin, and shaving needs.  I’ve been using their products for about a year now and I just love all of them.  I purchase them at Target, as I’m not sure where else to find them.  I was excited to see that they have a travel kit now and since I’ve been doing a bit of traveling, it makes it easier on me, so I don’t have to carry around the full size bottles…it even comes with a little plastic bag for TSA regulations.  My favorite product is the post-shave face lotion…do you have a favorite?

horiz

  • Jacob Mariano - The Post-Shave face lotion is the only Every Man Jack product I use. I do own some of the other products, however I still only use the lotion.

  • Wayne Toshikazu - Ha… I think I just found my twin brother, except you are neither Japanese nor look anything like me. Every Man Jack makes great stuff, and that would definitely be my product of choice, IF the Italian company Proraso (which is now made by C.O. Bigelow) didn’t make such amazing stuff. Their shaving cream is the best you can find in a brick and mortar store, and the eucalyptus and menthol blends are amazing. Love it!

Okay, don’t tell anyone I made such a big deal about shaving cream or men’s facial products. LOL!
