This past Saturday, I had the pleasure of photographing a wedding with one of my friends, Nicole of Nicole Ladonne Photography.  It was such a cute wedding.  I was a little worried about that weather with it being an outdoor ceremony and reception, since on the way there, it was pooring.  The rain let up right as we were arriving and the weather got better and better as the day progressed.  Meghan and Alex are such an adorable couple and were great to photograph.  Their site for both ceremony and reception, is my new favorite outdoor location.  It was held at the lovely, Alber Orchard & Cider Mill in Manchester, MI.  The orchard was a wonderful backdrop for a gorgeous and intimate wedding.  There were so many amazing details, from the green and white table clothes, to the tiny little apples on the tables, to the beautiful flower arrangements on each table…CUTE!!!  I loved everything about the day…well maybe except for the crazy hot temp at the end of the reception.  Did I mention it was cute?!?

How cute are these?

How cute are these?

The rings…I used my new Canon 500D close-up lens for this shot…I LOVE IT!!!

Relaxing before…

I always love this moment…

The fellas looked so awesome in their khakis and green ties!

And naturally, the ladies, looked stunning in their purple empire waist, tea length dresses.

They did.

Woo hoo!

Lots of green and red…

Catering was provided by A Moveable Feast…always a good choice!

The bridal party…big and happy!

I was told this is a Meghan look…

So maybe this is an Alex look.

So cute, so fun!

The hot bride and groom!!!

Some couple portraits in the orchard and glowing light!

Easily my favorite of the day!

  • Wendy Martin - Love the last shot!! Yummy light!

  • Rachael - Oh gosh. What talented people I am lucky enough to call friends and mentors. These are UNBELIEVABLE. I need to come see you!

  • Lisa - Wonderful pictures and I love, love, love the ring shot with your new lens!!

I tagged along with my friend and amazing photographer, Nicole yesterday to photograph one of her July brides, Melinda.  Melinda was absolutely stunning and reminded me of when I did a fashion workshop with David Beckstead, she just had that model look and was so easy to photograph.  Thank you to both ladies!  Here is an image of the gorgeous Melinda with two variations, since I liked them both.

  • Kristina - Dustin– You did a fantastic job! You captured some really great images!

  • Wendy Martin - Looks like a magazine pic! Love it!

Molly and Jon were the second couple I had the honor of photographing on Saturday.  Ironically, their ceremony took place at the First United Methodist Church in Chelsea, like Kathy and Joe’s did earlier that day.  Their uber-fun reception took place at the U. A. Local 190 Union Hall just west of Chelsea.  The hall was decorated in a super fun fashion with plenty of things for the eyes to wander to…with lots of purple.  I photographed Molly and Jon’s engagement session last Thursday and seeing them again all schnazzified so soon, was great!  Molly and Jon were easy going and enjoyed themselves as well as the friends and family surrounding them on their big day.  Daughter, Samantha looked adorable in her little dress and the father/daughter dance was a little more special, since both Molly and Jon were out on the dance floor.  I enjoyed capturing their wedding so much and feel so blessed I had the opportunity to do so.  It was a perfect end to my double wedding day.  Thank you for letting me be there!

My friend and fellow photographer, Delia came along to help me out and I had a great time shooting with her.  Delia shoots with Anne Ruthmann quite a bit and has a personality that just makes me laugh…thanks!

Here she comes…

Father of the bride with his alterations to his attire.  I’m thinking Molly doesn’t really care for them.

Molly’s purple amethyst necklace and earrings were so pretty…

The ladies…

I was also a huge fan of the vest/tie combo the father of the bride was sporting.  I don’t usually like brown and black together, but it SO worked…

You’re not cool unless you were shades.

A little pre-ceremony pool and foosball to relax.

Daddy and Samantha…

I loved the colors at Molly and Jon’s wedding too!  I guess June 21st was the day of killer color.

Samantha carried this little froggy that held the rings as well as this cute floral wreath.

The main event…

Whenever I see bubbles, I’m reminded of Finding Nemo

Formals?

Let’s get this party rollin’!

Interesting toast…is that blue champagne?  I think not.

I think this pretty much sums it up…

First dances…loved the father/daughter…can we say precious!?!

Let’s boogy…I bet that’s what the mom’s were thinking here.

Can’t ya just taste the fun?

A little couple time…

The lovely Molly…

And her sweety Jon.

Who’s supposed to carry who?

Delia and I had a blast!!!!

  • Anne - Niiiiiiiiiiiiice. 😉

  • Carol McTaggart - Dustin,
The pictures here are wonderful. I knew we chose the right photographer but these pictures confirmed it. I can’t wait to see the rest of them!
    Thank you, Carol

Kathy and Joe were the first couple I had the privilege of photographing on Saturday.  The first thing I noticed and couldn’t help but continue to capture were their colors…red and yellow.  The colors together were so yummy and it added such a fun, festive touch to the day.  The ceremony took place in Chelsea at the First United Methodist Church, which was a bit of a maze for me at first.  Both the best man, Zac and the maid of honor, Chrissy gave lovely readings during the ceremony, which added to the ceremony perfectly.  After the ceremony, we strolled downtown for some fun pics with the bridal party and then headed to the reception at the Chelsea Comfort Inn and Conference Center.  The reception was a very nice lunch, once again, held together very well by the red and yellow decor.  To top it off, Kathy and Joe walked around and said their “hello’s” to all the guests and handed out red and yellow personalized M&M’s.  I had a great time and I wish the newlyweds all the best down in their new sweet home Alabama!
